We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Biologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in conducting biological assessments, vegetation mapping, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of CEQA and other application regulations such as 401/404/1602, ESA/CESA.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct vegetation mapping and jurisdictional delineation activities in various habitats.
- Perform biological assessments and habitat evaluations as required by CEQA and CESA.
- Technical writing to support CEQA reports.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and recommendations based on survey findings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project compliance with environmental regulations.
- Assist in wetland delineations and ecosystem analyses to inform project planning.
- Conduct nesting bird surveys and other biological studies as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in biological consulting or related field.
- Strong knowledge of vegetation mapping, CEQA, CESA, and native plant species.
- Experience with environmental monitoring, field surveys, and jurisdictional delineations.
- Proficient in data collection, report writing, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with ESA regulations and permitting processes.
- Compensation range: 100-140k
