We are an established engineering services firm that specializes in civil, geotechnical, structural, and process design projects and have been serving the greater Denver area for over 15 years. Due to our recent growth and increased workload, we are seeking a skilled Senior Civil & Geotechnical Engineer to lead engineering projects related to civil and geotechnical design in the mining sector.
This role is critical for ensuring the stability and sustainability of mine structures, including tailings impoundments, heap-leach pads, and waste rock piles. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise to enhance project outcomes through effective design, analysis, and management practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee civil and geotechnical engineering projects related to mining operations.
- Conduct geo-civil analysis and design for various projects, focusing on tailings impoundments and heap-leach pads.
- Perform deformation analysis and infiltration/seepage assessments to evaluate site conditions.
- Ensure slope stability and recommend necessary mitigation measures for project safety.
- Collaborate with project management teams to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage and supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering designs and specifications.
- Assist in mine permitting processes and provide technical support during mine operations.
- Develop closure design plans that meet regulatory requirements and promote environmental sustainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in civil and geotechnical engineering, preferably in the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of tailings impoundments, heap-leach pads, and waste rock piles management.
- Experience with mine reclamation and environmental impact assessments.
- Proficient in geo-civil analysis and design methodologies.
- Familiarity with deformation analysis, infiltration/seepage, and slope stability assessments.
- Demonstrated project management and construction management skills.
- Experience with mine permitting and operations is a plus.
