The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with industry regulations. This position requires expertise in SolidWorks and 3D CAD, along with a strong understanding of geometric tolerance analysis and product data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks and 3D CAD software.
- Conduct geometric tolerance analysis to ensure precision and compliance in designs.
- Manage product data effectively using SolidWorks PDM and Agile PLM systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
- Perform testing and validation of prototypes to meet design specifications and functionality.
- Prepare and maintain thorough documentation, including specifications, design reviews, and project reports.
- Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance product design and manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D CAD, geometric tolerance analysis, SolidWorks PDM, and Agile PLM.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical and methodical approach.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes, sheet metal, weldments, injection molding, and automation is a plus.
- Able to spend 2 days/week on site at North Reading, MA or Westborough, MA
