Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview

We are Civil Construction contractor that is looing to bring on a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting practices, particularly within the construction sector. This role is essential for managing financial records, overseeing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the general ledger activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to track project costs and profitability.
• Handle fixed asset accounting including asset tracking, depreciation calculations, and disposals.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies related to financial reporting and transactions.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and facilitate the provision of required documentation.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the construction industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with general ledger management and account reconciliation processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
