Senior Tax Manager - CPA

Position Overview

A Senior Tax Manager is a key role within the finance department of a company, responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and reporting. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in tax management and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a CPA certification and be proficient in tax research and planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
• Conduct tax research to identify and interpret relevant tax laws and regulations, and implement any necessary changes to ensure compliance
• Provide guidance and support to the tax team on complex tax issues and provide solutions for tax planning and optimization
• Review and analyze financial data to identify areas for tax savings and efficiency
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax information
• Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and provide updates and recommendations to senior management
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors
• Develop and maintain internal controls and processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of tax filings
  
  

Qualifications

• CPA certification is required
• At least 8 years of experience in tax management, preferably in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of CCH tax software and tax research tools
• Experience with tax planning, individual and corporate tax returns, and tax reporting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks
