Position Overview
The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for ensuring the safety and health standards of all work activities at the project site. The SSHO will implement safety programs, monitor compliance with safety regulations, and provide training to employees to promote a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement site-specific safety and health plans in accordance with EM 385 and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices and regulations.
- Collaborate with project management and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to ensure all safety standards are met.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain safety documentation and reports to track compliance and performance metrics.
- Certified SSHO with extensive knowledge of federal safety regulations and EM 385 compliance.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in construction safety management, preferably with federal projects.
- Strong understanding of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) safety requirements and protocols.
- Excellent communication and training skills to effectively convey safety information to diverse teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Salary : $115,000 - $140,000
