Position Overview
The Tax Manager will oversee the company's tax strategies and compliance efforts. This role involves managing tax planning, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with IRS and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities for the organization
- Oversee the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for both corporate and individual clients
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and state tax laws
- Conduct tax research to identify tax-saving opportunities and assess risks
- Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding tax positions
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Maintain and enhance client relationships through effective communication and support
- Analyze financial reports to provide insights into tax implications and opportunities for optimization
- Utilize tax software and accounting principles to improve efficiency and accuracy in tax processes
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives to align tax strategies with business objectives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA preferred
- Proven experience in tax planning and compliance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Experience with tax software and tools for reporting and compliance
- Strong analytical and financial analysis skills
- Excellent communication and client relations abilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management
- Ability to conduct comprehensive tax research and provide strategic recommendations
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience in risk management related to tax compliance and planning
