Position Overview
The Transmission Line Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of transmission line projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as the integration of civil and structural engineering aspects to ensure efficient and safe transmission line operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop transmission line projects from concept to completion.
- Conduct structural analysis and modeling for transmission line structures.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure compatibility of designs with electrical systems.
- Perform line routing and structure spotting for optimal transmission line placement.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports to assess soil conditions for foundations.
- Generate and maintain bill of materials for project tracking and budgeting.
- Utilize CAD software, including AutoCAD and PLS-CADD, for drafting and design purposes.
- Implement industry standards and guidelines such as NESC, ASCE, and IEEE in project designs.
- Assist in the preparation of project specifications and documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience as a Transmission Engineer with a strong focus on transmission line design.
- Familiarity with structural engineering principles and practices.
- Proficient in CAD software including AutoCAD and PLS-CADD.
- Knowledge of utilities and their integration with transmission lines.
- Ability to read and interpret geotechnical reports and apply findings to engineering solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
