Position Overview
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Inspector is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities. This role ensures that all processes comply with environmental regulations and standards, promoting the effective treatment of wastewater through various treatment methods and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of treatment processes including oxidation ditches, clarifier tanks, and disk filters.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as chlorine contact pumps, aerobic digesters, and RAS/WAS systems.
- Prepare inspection reports and recommend corrective actions for deficiencies in treatment processes.
- Collaborate with civil construction teams for facility upgrades and maintenance projects.
- Assist in stormwater management strategies to mitigate environmental impacts.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of inspections and maintenance activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in wastewater treatment is preferred.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, including oxidation ditches, clarifiers, and filtration systems.
- Familiarity with chlorine dosing systems and aerobic digestion practices.
- Understanding of civil construction principles as they relate to wastewater management.
- Experience in stormwater management and water pipeline systems.
