Sr. Engineer Linux/Cloud Engineer

Job Title : Systems Engineer (NEI-14)

Location : Bethesda, MD

CyberData Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in network systems and cloud computing to enhance NEI's IT infrastructure and operational efficiency. This role involves managing, designing, and optimizing Linux-based environments and cloud services to meet high-performance and security standards.

Responsibilities :

• Coordinate and / or perform additions and changes to network hardware, operating systems, and attached devices, including configuration, installation, and testing of hardware / software.
• Provide direct support for network hardware and operating systems, including system utilization evaluations and response time monitoring.
• Troubleshoot physical network components and logical communication protocols.
• Maintain and enforce network infrastructure standards, including protocols such as TCP / IP.
• Design and implement robust cloud infrastructure architecture in environments such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google Workspace FedRAMP.
• Assess existing systems and applications for cloud readiness and propose migration plans.
• Manage cloud access controls and ensure compliance with established security protocols.
• Migrate existing data and applications to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal operational downtime.
• Maintain virtual server images and ensure optimal performance within designated cloud service providers.
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, revising existing Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) and disaster recovery procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments and implement necessary updates to address vulnerabilities.
• Establish and enforce security protocols, including user access controls and compliance standards.
• Provide ongoing monitoring and management of cloud resources to ensure cost-efficiency and operational performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related technical issues in a timely manner.
• Regularly assess system performance and recommend optimizations for scalability and reliability.
• Provide technical consultation and training sessions for IT staff on cloud usage, network protocols, and best practices.
• Offer direct support for day-to-day operations and technical issues related to cloud and network systems.
