About the Role:
The role of utility inspector is field based with all of the work scope located around LA in southern California. Utility inspectors work closely with a UAS pilot in a team of 2, travelling to scope locations to carry out inspections of wooden poles. Through ground patrol techniques and the review of data captured by the UAS pilot, the utility inspector completes surveys and inspections in the field via a tablet application. Attention to detail, great time management and a thorough understanding of distribution construction, components and failure mechanisms are key to this role.

This job is physically demanding and involves regular outdoor work and travel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform site tasks such as tailgate talks and adhere to company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to maximize productivity and minimize risk
- Maintain currency on technical material relating to pole inspections, components and failure mechanisms
- Accurate and timely identification and reporting of pole defects via a tablet application
- Secure data handling, backing, sorting and uploading data as required
- Assist with job preparation such as equipment management, organizing travel & accommodation.
- Collaborate with Planning Department/Coordinator(s) to ensure proper and effective implementation of SOPs and encourage a culture of continuous improvement
- Adhere to Cyberhawk’s highest standards of health and safety.
- Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
- 3 years of experience as a Lineman or Groundman
- 18 months experience in power line inspection or construction
- Safety-first approach
- Demonstratable IT skills including the use of tablet applications and data handling
- Knowledge of distribution inspection, construction and components
Bonus Experience:
Experience with UAS or other photography-based inspection
