You will work closely with our engineering teams to build and optimize databases, ensuring high performance, reliability, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities:
- Administration: Design, build, manage, and maintain database clusters in MySQL, MongoDB, and Elastic.
- Maintenance: Ensure database clusters are up to date, secure, and robust.
- Scalability: Architect scalability into all facets of database design, from georedundancy, to replication, to performance.
- Database Architecture: Contribute to the design of database systems, ensuring logical consistency and scalability in a clustered environment.
- DevOps Integration: Collaborate closely with the back-end and operations teams to integrate DevOps practices into database management, ensuring seamless deployment and maintenance of databases.
- Continuous Improvement: Leverage database management tools such as Percona Monitoring and Management to collaborate with engineers to ensure consistent and repeatable database designs, as well as effective monitoring solutions.
- Innovative Problem Solving: Tackle challenges with creative, compliant solutions that adhere to company standards and industry best practices.
- Security Focus: Ensure that all solutions adhere to security best practices, particularly in a cybersecurity-focused environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a Bachelor's or higher post-graduate degree, and 10 years industry experience, or equivalent additional industry experience.
- Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience performing database administration duties, and at least 10 years total professional experience in related technical fields
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with MySQL architecture and design
- Experience configuring and managing MySQL clusters
- Experience with both MongoDB and Elastic database clusters
- Strong experience in Linux environments
- Professional cybersecurity experience is a plus
- Experience with Percona Monitoring and Management is a plus
- Python scripting ability is a plus
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
