Job Description: IT Security Specialist V

We are looking for a highly skilled IT Security Specialist V to join our team. This position is critical in safeguarding our organization's information systems, data, and infrastructure from cyber threats. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust security measures to protect our digital assets and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's IT security strategy and policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses in systems and applications.
• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and proactively respond to security incidents.
• Lead incident response planning and execution, including investigation and remediation of security breaches.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies through regular audits and assessments.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into all aspects of system and software development.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology solutions.
• Provide training and awareness programs for employees on security best practices.
• Document security incidents and maintain records for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Contribute to the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT security, with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant role.
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and web filtering technologies.
• Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
• Familiarity with risk management and incident response methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Desired Experience:

• Previous experience in a senior security role, particularly within a large enterprise environment.
• Experience with security architecture, design, and implementation.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience with endpoint security solutions and threat intelligence platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and practices.
