A defense contractor is seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator with 3 years of experience to support a U.S. Navy program at Point Mugu Naval Air Station. This role involves managing IT infrastructure, system administration, and light software development and testing. Salary

up to $120 000 per year

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain LAN, network systems, and physical/virtual servers
• Manage IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments
• Monitor system integrity, security, and performance
• Maintain Windows Active Directory and enforce policies
• Install and upgrade software, manage licenses, and analyze network usage
• Implement cybersecurity measures and apply system patches/updates
• Assist with light software development and testing
• Troubleshoot system issues and maintain documentation

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of network components (routers, switches, firewalls)
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux administration
• Understanding of DoD cybersecurity protocols
• Familiarity with system patching procedures
• Experience with Cypress and Jest for software testing (1–2 years preferred)
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Security , Linux ) are a plus

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Substitution: 6 additional years of experience may replace a degree, or 4 years with an associate degree

Security Clearance

• Must hold an active Top Secret clearance (condition of employment)
