SUMMARY
Reporting to the Staff Accountant, the Accounting Clerk will perform clerical duties and ensure accuracy of financial records. The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciling accounts payable and receivable accounts, balancing accounts, invoicing clients, ensuring prompt payment of invoices and developing and maintaining a comprehensive financial filing system. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage accounting systems (QuickBooks)
- Enter, process client invoicing and balance accounts receivable and payable on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Enter AP invoices, collect approvals and review expense reports as necessary.
- Create and post journal entries
- Assist with other accounting projects & research requests.
- Track deposits made to bank and manage deposit transfers.
- Assemble financial data for audits and internal review.
- Monitor credit card charges, payment discrepancies, refunds, returns and miscellaneous charges.
- Maintain orderly financial filing system.
- Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position
- Balance sheet reconciliations, building support documentation and schedules needed for reconciliations
- Prepare and create reporting as needed (system generated reports such as Income Statement, Balance Sheet) and using excel to create reporting that is not system generated
- Calculate & track tax payments and compile information for tax filing.
- Typical Office hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
REQUIREMENTS
- 1-year experience with General Accounting (AP, AR, Bookkeeping, Journal Entries, Bank Reconciliations)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with QuickBooks, Xero or other accounting systems are preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills

- Salary - $20k-$34k
