As a Business Intelligence Architect/Developer, you will design and implement data architecture to support business intelligence and analytics reporting for the Client. Working within the Business Intelligence team at Jefferson County, you will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver advanced analytics and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure services and Power BI, with experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud-based data storage.

As a Business Intelligence Architect/Developer, you will design and implement data architecture to support business intelligence and analytics reporting for the Client. Working within the Business Intelligence team at Jefferson County, you will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver advanced analytics and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure services and Power BI, with experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud-based data storage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, champion, and implement data modeling and architecture standards to support advanced analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver robust data models.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure services.
- Optimize and manage data storage solutions including Azure SQL Database and Azure Blob Storage.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data processes, architectures, and workflows.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows to ensure optimal performance.
- Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Azure and Power BI.
- Experience developing and implementing data architecture within a cloud-based solution (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL Database and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL, SQL Server, and DAX.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative mindset.
- Experience in data lake or lake house development.
- Experience with implementing solutions in Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience using Python in developing analytics solutions.
- Microsoft Azure or Power BI certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in a full-time data analytics role or equivalent using Microsoft technologies. Prefer a major in computer science, information systems, information technology, software engineering, or a related field of study.
