As a Data Engineer, you will oversee the development and integration of data cataloging capabilities with cloud-based data assets, ensuring an optimized, scalable, and secure cloud data ecosystem. You will play a key role in building and maintaining data ingestion platforms and cataloging tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for data ingestion platform development and operations in a cloud environment.
- Lead the design, provisioning, integration, and maintenance of data catalog tooling.
- Collaborate with data application owners and developers to ensure a unified and consistent data ecosystem.
- Develop automation processes for data onboarding, provisioning, and activation.
- Manage infrastructure requirements for cloud platform engineers supporting data cataloging.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for ingestion workloads, ensuring availability and robustness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and vendor contractors.
- Conduct proofs-of-concept, product evaluations, and data tenant testing.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational best practices.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7 years in software engineering, with 4 years in data engineering within cloud platforms.
- Experience implementing and rolling out data catalog tools (CDGC, Data Plex, Collibra, Atlan, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud services like BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions.
- Advanced Python skills for data ingestion and transformation in cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud service lifecycle management, security, and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams.
- Fintech or regulatory experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Azure and AWS is preferred.
