As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining database systems, including data conversions, data modeling, and integration processes. You will work with technical specifications and adhere to client policies to ensure effective data handling and application system support. Your role will involve troubleshooting, data cleaning, and ensuring high accuracy in all data-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform data/database conversions, including data mapping, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, following technical specifications and client policies.
- Support the application system development life cycle with proficiency in developing and maintaining data models, data warehouses, and data integration processes.
- Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve errors and data cleaning issues with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Coordinate software releases and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Provide accurate and useful status updates and manage and report time spent on work activities.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, anticipating and resolving project-specific issues.
- Execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, estimating time and scheduling tasks to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge in data analysis and database management techniques.
- Assist in coordinating with team members and documenting processes for collaboration.
- 5 years in database administration, including at least 2 years at a Database Administrator 2 level or equivalent.
- Extensive experience managing and maintaining SQL Server, MySQL, or other database management systems.
- Strong experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries, with knowledge of .NET, C#, or other programming languages for data manipulation.
- Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other ETL tools for data conversion projects.
- Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, such as HIPAA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to resolve complex data-related issues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and coordinate with team members effectively.
- Capability to perform tasks with minimal supervision and accurately estimate time and schedule work.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or certifications in specific ETL tools.
- Experience with cloud data platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies or other project management frameworks.
- Knowledge of public health informatics, data collection methods, surveillance, and data modernization.
