Job Description:
Provide unit-level support in the installation, operation, and maintenance of computer systems. This role typically addresses issues of moderate complexity, receiving general instructions on routine work and more specific direction on new assignments. The Help Desk Support Specialist will interact consistently with users within the assigned unit, including management, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and upgrading workstation and peripheral hardware and software, responding to and resolving workstation, application, and server-related problems, and providing users with assistance in specific applications. The candidate will also maintain and troubleshoot office-related equipment such as copiers, fax machines, printers, building access systems, and email accounts. Additionally, this role requires direct support of classified systems in DoD closed areas, necessitating a minimum of a Final DoD Secret clearance on the first day of work.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Experience with Linux, help desk support, and account management (including account creation, password resets, and setting permissions).
- Experience supporting secure VTC calls, conducting basic user troubleshooting, software patching and upgrades, system hardening, and producing RMF documentation.
- Experience supporting office equipment such as printers and scanners and documenting installed applications.
- 2-5 years of job-related experience
