Commercial BizOps. Primary responsibility is to keep the platform in healthy and operationally ready state for stake holders

Commercial Transactions Management and Controls

  • What is your team s main responsibility?

Primarily focused on Protecting the customer and the platform -Ssupporting Oncall/Production Incidents/TRTs, Monitoring, automation initiatives, and collaboration with Development teams on PI release implementation tasks and release deployments. The major Objective is a Relentless focus on Monitoring, Automation, and Self Service initiatives.

  • What will a typical work day look like for this contractor? What are their expected hours?
      • Regular week: 7 AM to 4 PM CT. Every 6 weeks this SRE member need to support oncall schedule shift from 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM CST.

  1. Monitoring Tools Dynatrace, Splunk, Blazemeter.
  2. DevOps Tools Jenkins, Chef, Groovy, Shell Scripting
  3. Cloud Technologies preferably Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Automation with Java Background

  • What are a couple of desired/nice to have technical skills?
  1. Experience with scrum model
  2. Experience with ITSM tools/methodologies

  • Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, what are your on-site expectations, are you willing to consider fully remote candidates? Most local competitors are allowing fully remote work. This will significantly increase our candidate pool. We have approval from HR and our CWP Sponsor, however, this is up to manager discretion.

Preferred local candidates / need to relocate within 4-6 weeks of DOJ. We are in hybrid schedule, 3 days in office and 2 days WFH. We are planning to move back to 5 days in office in Q2 2025.

Overview

    • The role of business operations is to be the production readiness steward for the platform, by managing, mitigating, or elevating awareness of the business risk of all customer interactions with Client s technology platforms
    • We accomplish this by linking every technology recommendation with a business value, continuously monitoring platform health indicators, and elevating awareness when one of our main objectives is at risk
    • Support daily operations with a hyper focus on triage and then root cause by understanding the business implications of our products
    • Shift left to be more proactive and upfront in the development process
    • Proactively manage production and change activities to maximize customer experience, and increase the overall value of supported applications
    • Streamlining and standardizing traditional application specific support activities
    • Centralizing points of interaction for both internal and external partners by communicating effectively with all key stakeholders
    • Align Product and Customer Focused priorities with Operational needs

Responsibilities

    • Takes focus on specific projects of Business Operations for a platform.
    • Responsible for coordinating with one or more groups to ensure a particular project is completed to enhance the platform quality.
    • Develops plans to improve quality for each project that impacts the platform.
    • Ensures platform procedures are developed with best practices and standards and are well documented.
    • Helps to innovate on new methodologies to improve Business Operations.
    • Coaches junior level employees on Business Operations best practices.

Experiences

    • Experience in application development lifecycles and how it integrates with operations.
    • Successful track record in supporting a production application.
    • Experience in working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and to build relationships.
    • Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency.
    • Identifying and communicating risks proactively that can prevent incidents for all lines of business.
