Job Description :
As a Junior GIS Specialist / Technician, you will assist the Client Planning Data Solutions team in maintaining in-house planning web tools and providing GIS support to transportation planning staff. This role involves collecting, managing, and analyzing geospatial data, supporting GIS-related technical needs, and assisting in data visualization and analysis.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collect, manage, and analyze geospatial data from multiple sources to support planning activities.
- Create detailed maps, charts, and reports using GIS software to visualize data effectively.
- Perform geospatial data cleaning, manipulation, and quality control to maintain data accuracy.
- Integrate spatial data with other datasets to provide insights and enhance project outcomes.
- Evaluate tools, web platforms, and data quality, identifying errors and recommending improvements.
- Maintain and update GIS databases, documentation, and metadata for consistency and accuracy.
- Provide GIS-related technical support and training to other departments as needed.
- Research and implement best practices, tools, and technologies for GIS processes.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and project managers to execute geospatial data solutions.
- Develop workflows and scripts to automate repetitive geospatial data processes.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $30.00 to $40.00 / hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
