Tier 3 (T3) Support Technician / Systems Administrator Job Description
Systems Administrators (Tier 3 Support Technician) handle most of the companys On-boardings, higher-end ticket load and Projects as well as act as a technical escalation point for Tier 2 when they need assistance with customer requests. The core skillset, aside from being able to manage multiple networking infrastructures, should include cybersecurity and compliance protocols, Windows Server / Desktop Expert, network configuration, Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V), Project Management, Application / Integration support, MS365, Entra / Azure, AWS and experience with Watchguard / Aruba network equipment. The candidate must work well in a team environment, is disciplined, highly reliable / dependable, is able to work well unsupervised and have excellent communication skills with his own team as well as the client.
This position will troubleshoot issues, make recommendations to internal parties and customers regarding concerns or issues, and ensure the resolution of any problems. This position requires regular planning and teamwork to support customer issues. This position will regularly communicate answers to complex questions and respond to detailed inquiries about technical issues and how to resolve current and foreseeable problems.
Objectives of this role
As a member of the Service Delivery team, this position is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining IT Infrastructures such as physical servers, storage arrays, hypervisors, backup and disaster recovery systems, server rooms, and monitoring the performance of client systems to meet optimal performance requirements.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to :
- The demonstration of thorough technical and service mastery of all T1 & T2 responsibilities.
- In-depth knowledge of Hyper-V and VMware virtualization platforms (manage, maintain, and deployment)
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP phone systems in their creation from beginning to end.
- Lead a wide variety of assigned projects, while adhering to Cybertools best practices. Examples : Microsoft 365 email migrations, server migrations, possible cloud deployments and migrations, firewall / switch / wireless / backup deployments, phone systems, and new service deployments.
- Project work may be onsite or remote.
- Design, implement and follow detailed implementation steps.
- Identify risks and hurdles and solutions for mitigating such.
- Create and update technical and client service documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to improve project delivery.
- Communicate and coordinate with clients. vendors and internal teams throughout the project process (kickoff, checkpoint, and project completion meetings)
- Backup and Disaster Recovery design, planning, testing, monitoring, and execution of customers and internal BDR.
- Lead the companys internal cyber and other security network and infrastructure protocols.
- Serves as the highest-level technical resource for Service Delivery Team.
- Leads complex troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis.
- Monitor and maintain off-site backups within Cybertools client base.
- Onboarding new customers to Cybertools Managed Services.
- Logged into the T2 phone queue for incoming calls & backup coverage.
- Monitoring the service board for new tickets. Pulling & working tickets to meet customer SLAs.
- Assist in the training of team members to help fulfill engineer roles
- After-hours projects and work as needed
- Ongoing Education & Training with new technologies
- Customer on-site visits to Install new hardware, printers, and software as needed.
- Be available for on-call after-hours support on a rotating basis.
- Any other duties as assigned
Other key skills and abilities
Vehicle / License : Must have the daily use of a vehicle without prior notice. Must have a valid drivers license, clean driving record and must be willing to travel to various locations with such frequency as the business need dictates.
