Job Description: -
The Structural Designer is responsible for performing structural analysis, design tasks and engineering modeling assignments for a variety of building types, sizes and materials as well as assisting project teams on assignments ranging from conceptual design to final construction documentation to construction administration. Must be able follow specific, outlined and detailed directions.
You will:
- Have knowledge of basic engineering principles, material properties, and a familiarity with construction, installation, and maintenance procedures.
- Provide conceptual input to projects during the planning stages.
- Perform other related tasks in support of project engineer, such as writing sequence of construction procedures, compiling and computing engineering data, estimating, etc.
- Prepare detail and layout drawings of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge that will be clearly understood in the field during construction.
- Provide structural design for buildings and industrial structures.
- Work closely with members of the team and assist in completing projects in a timely manner.
- Implement and utilize the Company’s Best Practices for projects and processes.
- Manage problem/task resolution in a timely manner with majority of tasks typically taking 1-2 days to resolve.
You Bring:
- Tech or Trade School for Design or equivalent coursework
- 4 years working on Structural design projects
- Strong STAAD and/or AutoCAD experience
- Experience working on heavy industrial projects (mining, O&G, manufacturing, LNG processing, power gen, etc.)
- Ability to be detail oriented.
- Ability to work in a team and individually on projects.
- Advanced critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
