Job Role : Roofing Mechanic / Roofer
Job Location : Ft Lauderdale / Miami Florida
Core Focus :
The Roofing Mechanic will be responsible for executing roofing projects with precision and
efficiency. This includes safe material handling, installation of roofing systems, and adherence to company safety policies. The role requires expertise in various roofing techniques, including heat welding, torch application, and waterproofing system installations.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform all tasks with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure job site safety compliance.
Properly handle and set up roofing materials, tools, and equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized job site.
Safely tear off and dispose of old roofing materials.
Install insulation, flashing, roof drains, termination bars, and waterproofing
systems.
Apply adhesives and fastening patterns per project specifications.
Operate power tools and roofing equipment, including Rhinobond machines, heat
welders, and torches.
Ensure proper installation of tapered insulation and crickets for drainage.
Seamlessly tie in new roofing systems to existing structures to prevent leaks.
Install metal components, gutters, and downspouts.
Attend Best Roofing training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Follow company protocols, including the 31 Steps of a Construction Project.
Support and uphold Best Roofing's values and standards.
Skills & Experience :
Proven experience in commercial roofing installation and repair.
CERTA Torch Certification (required).
OSHA 10 Certification (required).
Ability to work at heights on flat and inclined surfaces in various weather conditions.
Proficiency in torch welding, heat welding, and fastening techniques.
Strong knowledge of single-ply, modified bitumen, and waterproofing systems.
Ability to lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding
tasks.
High school diploma or equivalent, vocational training preferred.
