Job Overview
CyCan Industries, a leading aerosol manufacturing company, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk to oversee our shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience, be forklift certified, proficient in shipping and receiving software, and possess the ability to adapt to changing schedules quickly. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of products in and out of our facility, emphasizing safety, cleanliness, and quick turnarounds.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the shipping area, ensuring efficient and accurate shipping and receiving processes.
- Utilize shipping and receiving software to manage inventory and track shipments.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently for various tasks, including unloading/loading trucks, moving materials, and organizing the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, including ensuring that safety protocols are always followed.
- Supervise and assist in unloading and loading trucks as needed, including the safe transfer of materials from trucks.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to develop and optimize shipping and receiving schedules.
- Adjust schedules and priorities to accommodate changing demands and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in maintaining accurate records.
- Train and mentor shipping and receiving team members as needed.
- Ensure all outgoing shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and documented.
- Adhere to OSHA guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving.
- Mechanical knowledge to operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Experience with shipping and receiving software for tracking and managing shipments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic schedule and make changes quickly.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials (100lbs over more).
- Understanding of propane and gas handling procedures is a plus.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including experience with 3PL operations.
