What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at Cycle Center of Denton?
The position of Shipping and Receiving Associate is a very important role vital to the organization and productivity of the dealership as a whole. Shipping and receiving clerks need to have excellent organization skills, enabling them to quickly locate merchandise for distribution or placement within the dealership. And since they interact with everyone from vendors to management to co-workers, they need to be strong communicators. Shipping and receiving clerks also must have a firm grasp of how to operate sometimes heavy equipment used to move merchandise, as well as the strength and stamina needed to spend a lot of time on their feet and lift packages. Following is a list of the job duties prescribed but not limited to for this position.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, notates or rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Must accurately input costs and invoice numbers into computer system and turn all invoices into accounts payable to ensure those invoices are documented and paid in a timely manner.
- Routes items to departments in a timely fashion as to facilitate productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Label and affix security tags to items being merchandised and sold on the dealership showroom
- Maintains a clean and organized counter and working area free of clutter or trash, utilizing file cabinets or invoice bins to keep track of completed and outstanding invoices or outgoing shipments.
- May operate forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Ensures that every part in the parts department has a bin location
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
