What is a Cyclebar Instructor?

Top instructors are an absolutely critical success factor for a CycleBar® studio. What is a CycleStar instructor? Simply put, a Cyclebar instructor is an instructor with the unique ability to create an exhilarating cycling class experience that makes riders want to return often.
When a Cyclebar instructor truly connects with a group of CycleBar riders, the effect is magical. It is much more than a workout; it is a high-energy, intoxicating experience that leaves that rider saying, “Wow.” How does a Cyclebar instructor create this experience? There is no single formula, because a great class is created when the instructor’s genuine personality and passion are front and center -- and great instructors have a variety of styles and personalities.

Great CycleBar studios have a variety of Cyclebar instructors employing a number of styles. This is a critical concept for the development of your Cyclebar instructor team. The best mix includes men and women of various ages, with a broad range of musical tastes and styles.
The CycleBar formula of deploying a variety of styles is critical to the business for several reasons: First, it lets Cyclebar instructors create classes by genuinely tapping into their own unique personalities. Second, because of this variety, your studio has the best chance of attracting and retaining the broadest range of riders. Your guests, like your instructors, have varying style preferences.

Class Expectations

1. Arrive to class 20-30 minutes before class

*This allows time to set yourself up for success, get into the right mindset, get your room ready and to connect with your riders new and loyal.

2. Remain after class 15-20 minutes

*Engage with riders and help clean up personal items

3. Show up to class ready with playlist in tact

*Playlists should be made prior to arriving to the studio - NOT at the studio

4. Create a new playlist for every class

*Do not repeat playlists

5. Dress for success and ready to teach a class
*Clothes should be clean and fitness professional. Wear only CB branded gear or plain athletic attire with no logos.

5. Teach the CB formatted rides only

*OG 12 song sequence, Alt A or B, 60 minute ride, Classic, Connect, Performance, Empower or Xpress only. You must follow the appropriate brand formats and guidelines for all classes.

7. Make announcements pre and post class
*Announce at the end of the class any specials but standard: New Rider Specials are available even for Class Pass riders and please see me (CycleStar) or our Front Desk Team if you have any questions! Ask for the Sale. Fill up your classes!

Studio Expectations

  1. Keep DJ booth neat and tidy. Each studio has a set of baskets to keep your items securely and neatly in place.

  2. Handle all studio equipment with care (mics, mic packs, mic belts, iPads, etc)

  3. Do not leave personal items at the studio

  4. Offer to help the CBX flip the room if they need it

Marketing Expectations

1. Post on social media 2 x per week promoting your schedule and CB events.

Marketing yourself and the studio is an expectation. Each CS must post 2x per week on at least one social media platform. Promoting your schedule and classes will only help to fill your classes. See our “social media best practices” sheet for guidance.
