Commercial Door Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a mechanically inclined, dedicated Commercial Door Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of doors and related jobs. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or with a crew.

General Information

• Compensation range is dependent on experience.
• Commercial entrance doors experience (Preferred but not Required).
• Overtime is mandatory, not optional.
• Weekend on-call rotation once per month is mandatory. ‘On Call’ hours will be discussed further during interview.

Job Responsibilities

• Service, repair, replace and install commercial entrance doors, door hardware, gates, overhead doors, drive thru windows, storefronts and more.
• Conduct thorough inspections of door systems to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations and repairs.
• Read instructions to ensure accurate installation of door parts.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service.
• Up sell and quote products and services to customers.
• Maintain company truck clean and organized.
• Complete neatly & thoroughly all work orders, take off sheets, preventive maintenance worksheets and all other vital documents after each job.
• Upload work orders, pictures of the job, parts packing slips, take off sheets into CRM software.
• Maintain parts inventory.
• Contribute to warehouse inventory organization and cleanliness.
• Work collaboratively with in office Quotes Specialists/Customer Service Representatives.
• Technicians are required to train/lead the crewman assigned to jobs with Technician.
• Technicians are required to verify all crewman work was completed correctly.
• Pick up parts, doors and glass from vendors and verifying specs are correct while onsite conducting will call.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times, this includes pre & post clean up of jobsite, clear debris and ensure work completed is clean & presentable (e.g.: glass old parts, etc.)
• Follow safety protocols for each job while at job site.

Job Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Good Driving Record
• Background Check
• Must be able to participate in random Drug Screening
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Must be mechanically inclined (Required)
• Proficiency in using power tools safely and effectively
• Experience with small motors and hand tools (Required)
• Must have basic hand tools upon onboarding or upon completion of 90 days of employment, list of tools will be provided (Required)
• Must be able to lift up to 80-100lbs
• Must safely be able to climb a ladder (up to 26 feet) with an extension while carrying up to a 30lb part
• Must be able to bend, climb and stand for an extended amount of time
• Must wear PPE safety glasses, gloves, face masks, welding safety equipment, etc.
• Must purchase and wear steel toed boots at all times
• Must maintain a well groomed appearance (example: no free flowing hair that can cause harm while operating tools and machinery)
• No visible tattoos depicting inappropriate content while on the job/job sites
• Must report to work with a clean work attire daily
• Ability to fabricate components as needed for custom installations
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
