What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Leader - Supply Chain position at Cyient?
The Team Leader - Supply Chain will be responsible for management of schedule and risk in the supply chain/procurement/purchasing functions of the Buying teams. The role will provide management direction and support to a team comprised of expediters for specific aspects of the Supply Chain process.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Guide team of expeditors located at Offshore & Onsite to achieve day-to-day tasks.
- Lead and assist in the research, presentations, reports, projects, and meetings.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Interacts with management regarding highly complex requirements and issue resolution.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities for the department and company.
- Main point of contact responsible for training and directing team of expediters.
- Ensure adherence to all processes and policies. Should coordinate with offshore India team, as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineer or Finance preferred.
- 5 years’ of directly related progressive experience within supply chain management.
- Supply Chain and/or Project Management certification preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to communicate effectively through all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Proficiency in an ERP system; SAP preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively identify risks and solutions to mitigate or shift that risk.
- Ability to effectively lead and influence a team to achieve organization and company goals.
