Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. This position requires a solid understanding of supply chain management, experience with managing inventory, and a basic understanding of mechanical/hydraulic assemblies. The Buyer will work closely with suppliers to secure products ahead of schedule or urgently if needed. They will also manage our existing inventory to ensure fulfillment of our service line.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, service, and delivery capabilities.
- Manage inventory levels.
- Follow up with suppliers and shippers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.
- Work with finance and production departments to align purchasing strategies with business goals.
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand blueprints/schematics and identify individual parts as well as assemblies.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
