Job Details
Role: Senior Mainframe Developer (COBOL, ALGOL, WFL, Unisys MCP)
Location: Milwaukee, WI, Lincoln NE, Alpharetta & Marietta GA, King of Prussia PA, Frisco TX and Berkeley Heights NJ (5 days onsite)
Mandate Skills: (COBOL, ALGOL, WFL, Unisys MCP)
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7 years of experience in COBOL, ALGOL, and WFL development in a mainframe environment.
- Expert knowledge of Unisys MCP, including system administration, job processing, and automation.
- Extensive experience in maintaining and enhancing COBOL and ALGOL legacy applications.
- Experience with batch processing, job scheduling, and workflow automation using WFL.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in COBOL, ALGOL, and MCP systems.
- Ability to optimize and refactor legacy code for improved performance and scalability.
- Familiarity with mainframe performance tuning techniques and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of data migration and system integration for mainframe systems.
- Experience with modernization projects, such as moving legacy systems to newer technologies or integrating mainframes with modern systems.
- Familiarity with mainframe security and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of mainframe disaster recovery procedures and practices.
- Experience with Unisys MCP upgrade or migration projects.
- Familiarity with other mainframe programming languages such as PL/I, Assembler, or JCL.
