About the Position

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the care and safety of patients in magnetic environment
- Performs high-quality imaging consistent with ordered exam
- Assesses patient condition during exam and notifies radiologist of any changes
- Utilizes contrast material judiciously
- Understands proper use of all equipment pertinent to MRI department
- Works under direction of radiologist
- Completes film archival prior to radiologist review
- Communicates with radiologists, front desk staff, and other departments
- Reports equipment problems to MRI Chief Technologist
- Completes documentation and paperwork as required
- Maintains reading room and workstations
- Acts as preceptor for new employees
- Trains students, interns, and externs as needed
- Provides basic patient education skills
- Supports strategic development of MRI services to meet changing customer needs and ensure growth
- Work in accordance with standards and protocols, state and federal regulations
- Complies with departmental and hospital policies and procedures
- Ensures compliance with patient quality standards for all age groups
- Keeps abreast of latest trends in MRI
- Assists in evaluation of new imaging equipment as needed
- Maintains standards of performance
- Interacts professionally with patients, vendors, coworkers, and medical staff
- Promotes service excellence
