Job Title: Technician Job Specialty: Surgical Reprocessing
Duration: 13 weeks, Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Surgical Technician Responsibilities
- Clean, inspect, assemble, package, and disinfect/sterilize all surgical products to support physicians and the surgical team in various departments.
- Document and monitor all sterilization processes, ensuring compliance with standards, including steam, ETOH, Sterrad, and high-level disinfectants.
- Supply the needs of various departments by properly meeting and anticipating instrumentation needs for the assembly of procedure-specific case carts.
- Receive, unpack, shelve supplies, and maintain stock while adhering to sterile supply management principles.
- Collaborate with surgical specialty teams to ensure required supplies are available when needed.
- Proactively coordinate preparing the case cart according to the surgeon's preference card for supplies, equipment, instruments, and implants.
- Utilize interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and hospital personnel.
- Demonstrate computer and customer service skills.
Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent education required.
- Completion of a medical terminology course is preferred.
