Job Description
This Pharmacy Technician role involves providing technical support to pharmacists and pharmacy services in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, knowledge of drug names and strengths, and ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve medications from shelves and dispensing robots, count and label containers under supervision
- Clean and refill dispensing robots and counting devices daily
- Order and replace stock in the pharmacy
- Retrieve and interpret medication orders; perform calculations; enter orders into the pharmacy computer system for review
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred
- 5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting
- Valid pharmacy technician license in the State of Alaska
- Knowledge of drug names and strengths, generic equivalents, pharmaceutical and medical terminology, and pharmacy law
