About the Role
This Pharmacy Technician position involves retrieving medications from shelves and dispensing robots, counting and labeling containers under supervision. You will also be responsible for cleaning and refilling dispensing robots and counting devices daily, ordering and replacing stock in the pharmacy, and retrieving and interpreting medication orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to pharmacists and pharmacy services
- Retrieve medications from shelves and dispensing robots, count and label containers under supervision
- Clean and refill dispensing robots and counting devices daily
- Order and replace stock in the pharmacy
- Retrieve and interpret medication orders; perform calculations; enter orders into the pharmacy computer system for review
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred
- 5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting
- Valid pharmacy technician license in the State of Alaska
- Knowledge of drug names and strengths, generic equivalents, pharmaceutical and medical terminology, and pharmacy law
