Respiratory Therapist II - Nights
Job Specialty: Therapeutic Treatment, Job Duration: 13 weeks, Shift: Night, 7 PM - 7 AM Guaranteed Hours.
Requirements:
- 0-2 years of clinical experience with a minimum of 6 months in critical care required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care Professional Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication administration and implementing respiratory care in complex, multiple problem-patient care situations.
- Patient and family/support system education, coordination of activities, staff development, and professional and self-development activities.
- Patient care with an understanding and awareness of population-specific needs, addressing biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family education needs.
Responsibilities:
- Completion of patient care, documentation, and education with a team approach to service to promote a positive work environment.
- Patient assessments for therapy and collaborate with healthcare team members in planning patient care.
- Verify orders and administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen medical gas therapy.
- Perform ventilator management, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation, and airway management.
- Promote current and accurate electronic orders, charting, and charging with a high level of patient safety.
Note:
NICU experience preferred. Holiday requirements and every other weekend availability required.
