Summary : Specialized radiologic technologist assists physicians with minimally invasive procedures that guide instruments through a patient`s blood vessels and organs. Reports to the Supervisor of the Unit and or Chief Technologist. Duties and Responsibilities : Optimize use of radiation. Assist patient to procedure room. Advise on the provision of radiology equipment. May assist in the following, Angioplasty, Biopsies, image-guided thermal ablation and other procedures in the radiology department. Evaluate quality assurance performance. Monitor performance. Train staff and physicians in relevant aspects of radiation protections. Helps physicians with minimally invasive procedures that guide instruments through a patient`s blood vessels and organs. Observe patients during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Education & Experience Requirements : Two year degree in Interventional Radiology. One year of experience as Interventional Radiology Technician. Current AHA BLS.
