Job Description :
Responsible for the management of clinical nursing practices and patient care delivery on the assigned unit(s).- Manage human, fiscal, material, support, and systems resources while achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department through daily operations.- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and willingness to take on new challenges, prioritizing associate engagement.- Consistently promote a positive work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.- Support associate development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.- Manage a span of control of 55 to 70 headcount. Direct accountability and reporting for one or two cost centers, three if span does not exceed 70.- Maintain clinical RN competency on at least one managed unit.- Conduct evaluations of productivity and collaborate with finance to forecast revenue and expenses to prepare and manage the unit / department’s budget.- Ensure appropriate staffing plans match competency with patient acuity.- Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit / department goals.- Involve associates in decision-making through a shared governance structure.- Develop and maintain relationships with associates, physicians, and patients.- Promote professional development to improve associate retention.- Facilitate change management and influence others in fostering a healthy work environment.- Focus on personal growth and development through involvement in professional associations and / or advancing education.- Begin to develop an understanding of executive presence.- Develop, monitor, and respond to a full range of financial, service, and quality indicators in all areas of responsibility.- Maintain compliance with operational procedures / organizational policies for clinical activities and regulatory readiness.- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
Additional Notes :
Floating may be required to any location within sixty miles of the original assignment location or designated float zone.- Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements in accordance with policy.
