Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or similar certification obtained within 3 years Must-Have : Strong working knowledge of patient care principles, quality improvement concepts, medical peer review principles, and risk management Job Description : - Provides and applies clinical knowledge and expertise, advanced critical thinking, and management tools, techniques, and processes.- Coordinates regulatory surveys and continuous accreditation readiness activities.- Facilitates significant clinical events investigations and reporting.- Participates in medical staff peer review and medical staff performance data support.- Conducts medical record review, data analysis, trending, and solutions.- Facilitates education and training around quality, accreditation, and safety.- Chairs committees and teams as applicable, serving as the expert for quality improvement and accreditation.- Collaborates with Administration, Providers, Leaders, and Staff to ensure awareness of quality and patient safety, and to facilitate improvement efforts.- Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of a strong Consortium-wide Quality Management Plan.- Facilitates and promotes quality improvement measures and initiatives.- Monitors and reports compliance in an appropriate and timely manner.- Provides feedback and problem-solving support to ensure Quality Management Plan effectiveness.- Utilizes skills in data analysis, chart reviews, and other Quality Management tools / methodologies.- Develops, maintains, and utilizes sound working knowledge of accreditation and regulatory standards and serves as the primary resource for interpretation and application.- Actively involved in continuing education / training / conferences to stay updated on standard changes.- Guides leadership and staff in understanding regulatory standards and their proficient application.- Assures development, implementation, and monitoring of action plans based on data and leading practices to meet regulations.- Investigates concerns, trends, or risk factors that present risks or safety concerns.- Collaborates with Medical Staff leadership and committees on procedural issues related to Medical Staff peer review.- Communicates professionally and effectively, serving as a resource, mentor, and role model.- Other duties as assigned, including cross-coverage of other Quality Management team member roles.
