Patients include complex surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases.
Experience With Complex Cardiac Patients And Trauma Is Required.
Applicants must be proficient in managing ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, and multiple system traumas.
Patient ratios can vary from 1:1 to 1:3, depending on acuity.
The role demands comfortability with IV medications, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry.
Candidates must have strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
The position involves working in a fast-paced environment with all critical patients.
Support staff includes one to two nurse aides per unit, a resource nurse contingent on staff availability, and a respiratory therapist available 24/7.
Charge nurses oversee all ICUs during shifts.
Physicians include three intensivists during the day and two along with an APP at night.
Charting is done using the Epic system.
The use of Alaris and Omnicell is required.
Floating to other adult floors or Medsurg/Tele is possible if overstaffed.
Weekend rotation is every other weekend.
No call schedule is required.
No requested time off during holidays or major local events.
