- Experience:** Minimum 2 years of recent ER/Trauma Level 1 experience required within the past year.
- License:** Active RN License
- Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
- Flexibility to work all listed shift start times
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer (2 attempts allowed)
- Successful completion of a Simulation Lab on the first day of orientation (Pass/Fail)
- Work in a 60-bed ER unit, including 14 fast-track beds with bedside triage.
- Patient ratios of 1:3-4, assisted by Charge Nurses, Unit Secretaries, Paramedics, and CNAs.
- Perform moderate conscious sedation competency testing; proficiency with GE Lifepacks monitors and Puritan Benette 840, Dreager, Vision Bipap, V60s vents.
- Collaborate with 2-6 Physicians and 2-4 midlevel providers available in-house.
- Provide care for trauma, motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, strokes, myocardial infarctions, high-risk OB, psychiatric holds, cardioversions, and conscious sedation for closed fractures.
- Care for an average of 4-6 psychiatric holds daily.
- Handle a diverse 11% pediatric population, admitting patients 15 or older while stabilizing and transferring younger patients.
- Facility certified as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center, handling 80,000 visits annually.
- Floating required between two locations approximately 7 miles apart, potentially for mid-shifts.
- Participate in a 2-3 day, floor-specific orientation.
- Use Cerner charting system.
- Compliance with scrub color policy: Navy.
