- Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
- 2 years of ER Experience
- Previous Medsurg experience
- Unit has Trauma Level IV designation, is a STEMI receiving center, and has Stroke designation
- 4 beds and 2 trauma bays in the unit
- No Fast Track; ER holds are intermixed within the ER
- Separate Psych/seclusion rooms available
- No 24/7 in-house security
- Average of 10 patients treated per day in the ER
- Charge nurse present each shift and takes patient assignments
- On-call nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient sitters
- RNs troubleshoot equipment like Vents, Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow; must read their own strips
- Tele monitors are Mindray brand
- Lab staff handles both X-Ray, CT, and lab draws
- Shifts include D/N rotation with 12-hour shifts: 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM
- Blocked schedules considered; weekend work every other weekend
- Required to float to Med/surg and Swing bed, which are in the same unit
- Dress code is navy blue scrubs
- 12-hour orientation shift
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies, with restrictions on recent employment with facilities in the same network
- No additional time off approved post-submission
- Charting system used is Point Click Care
