- Work in a Trauma Level II emergency room, certified in Stroke and STEMI.
- The emergency room has 65 bays divided into different zones (A, B, C, D, & E); staff will rotate through each zone.
- Designated Code/Trauma area with a Fast Track zone consisting of 10 chairs.
- Separate triage area close to the waiting room staffed by 3-4 Triage RNs. Travelers with triage experience may work in this area.
- Staff includes ERG nurses who assist with ER hold patients. ER RNs may be assigned hold patients as necessary.
- Security is available 24/7.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios can vary from 1:4-8 depending on patient acuity and staffing.
- Patient population includes adults and pediatrics with common diagnoses such as DM, Asthma, Respiratory Issues, COVID-19, Chest Pain, STEMI, CVA, Trauma, and more.
- Must be able to titrate all critical drips and provide conscious sedation for bedside procedures and pain management.
- Staff includes 1-2 attending physicians, 3-4 RNs, and 1 PCT in each zone.
- Charge nurse and manager available 24/7.
- Duties include phlebotomy, 12 Lead EKGs, vital signs, POCT, patient care, and assisting RNs.
- Respiratory therapy is available by call 24/7, with RT equipment managed by RNs.
- RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting their own telemetry, with monitors located in patient rooms.
- X-Ray and CT facilities are located down the hall; transport team available.
- Encourage flexibility in scheduling and possible block scheduling available.
- Weekend work is typically every other weekend and may be requested for additional weekends.
- Participation in holiday rotation may be required.
- Orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor, classroom sessions, and unit-specific training.
- Royal Blue scrubs are required.
- Uses Allscripts charting system.
