- Work in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit with 34 beds
- Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 in ICU, and 1:4 in PCU
- Care for patients with common diagnoses including neuro surgery, respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, general surgery, psychiatric/overdose cases, GI bleeds, and cancer surgeries
- Required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
- Serve as charge nurse during shifts and attend rapid response and code situations
- Collaborate with nurse aids/patient care techs with a 1:18 ratio
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
- Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips using Draeger heart monitoring system
- Follow a schedule set by management with requirements for alternating weekends and holidays
- Expected to float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU
- Comply with dress code requiring navy blue scrubs
- Complete 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation
- Work in a fast-paced unit with volume fluctuations as part of a team-oriented environment
- Engage with attendings, fellows, and residents to foster high-quality care
