- Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate a plan of care for residents.
- Ensure medications and treatments are administered to assigned residents.
- Modify the plan of care as needed.
- Safeguard residents' property and maintain their self-esteem, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Provide residents with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their care plans.
- Maintain safe, pleasant, and orderly resident living areas.
- Process physicians' orders and notify physicians in a timely manner.
- Observe residents, direct and document care provided, and communicate residents' conditions to appropriate staff.
- Respond promptly to resident call lights.
- Direct and assist with resident and family education.
- Accurately use the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Utilize transfer equipment and handling techniques to ensure resident safety.
- Demonstrate knowledge of department-specific safety, fire, and disaster plans.
