- Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg-Tele unit required; Prior experience with geriatric patients strongly preferred.
- License:** Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification strongly preferred.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- English language proficiency (Read, Write, Speak).
- Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families.
- Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
- Participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensure implementation of solutions.
- Work on the Acute Care of Elderly (ACE) unit with 60 year-old patients.
- Handle a patient ratio of 1:5 in a stroke overflow unit.
- Serve a diverse patient population.
