Guaranteed Hours

• Experience:** Minimum of 2 years required in the last 5 years; Traveler Experience: Accepts first-time travelers
• License:** Active RN license required

Must-Have

• Epic documentation experience
• Skills in heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, blood product administration, central line and peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts
• Management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes - Emerson/Pleuravac, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, tracheostomy management, wound care
  
  

Job Description

• Provide professional nursing care in a medical-surgical unit focused on ortho trauma and general surgery patients
• Responsible for managing patients with severe injury to the bones, joints, and/or soft tissue, traumatic brain injuries, and spine injuries
• Administer medications using Pyxis and adhere to the facility's documentation and communication standards, including SBAR
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain compassionate and effective working relationships with patients and their families
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing organizational education
• Required to work every other weekend and comfortable with patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Float to similar units and alternative care locations as needed
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events
  
  

Preferred Experience

• ACLS, interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience in pre/post-hemodialysis management, management of drips, CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries
  
  

Please note that this role requires flexibility and a strong ability to adapt to the needs of the healthcare facility. Orientation includes a 12-hour unit orientation and a 16-hour organizational education commitment. Navy scrubs are required. Flu vaccine is mandatory unless exempted for medical or religious reasons. Module completion required before starting, with modules delivered online.
