Job Description
- Utilize the knowledge basis of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Respond to life-threatening situations with appropriate nursing interventions.
- Organize care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with all necessary providers and leaders on an ongoing basis.
- Demonstrate knowledge and appropriate use of the nursing process for patients across various age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Document thoroughly as care is delivered, following regulatory and hospital requirements.
- Assume responsibility for clinical competencies and professional development of self and others.
- Practice in a clinical environment through the application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
- Ability to work varied shifts and/or days, including weekends and holidays.
- Utilize good judgment, demonstrate patience, utilize best practices for patient care as expected by department leaders, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Work effectively in a busy, stressful work environment where practices may change to meet new patient safety requirements, goals, or objectives.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage workload expectations.
