Responsibilities include caring for patients in general surgery and various surgical areas such as colorectal, plastics, GYN, OMFS, and podiatry.
The unit primarily accommodates patients with surgical abdominal incisions and new ostomy patients, as well as those with surgical drains.
Floating to other units as needed is expected.
The RN is required to assist with blood draws.
Work every other weekend is a requirement.
Work every other holiday is also expected.
Initial orientation consists of a 12-hour day shift on the first day, followed by a second shift of orientation, after which the RN will take their own assignment on the third day.
Facility can call off up to three shifts for a 13-week contract and two shifts for contracts shorter than 13 weeks.
