Job Description :

Provide nursing care to oncology patients without administering chemotherapy- Comfortable floating to telemetry and other medical-surgical floors- Work in a unit with 17 beds and patient ratios of 1 to 5 (could be 1 to 4 for patients undergoing chemotherapy)- Utilize Cerner for charting and electronic medical records- Function under a clinical supervisor who fills in as break relief (does not take patient assignments)- Collaborate with one nurse aide available for 8 hours of daytime support- Participate in a weekend rotation, with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule- Holidays aligned with permanent staff rotation- Wear navy scrub color- Utilize telemetry box and interpret cardiac rhythms; must pass dysrhythmia exam- Work in an acute care setting with no ventilators, 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support- Engage in a 12-hour shift schedule from 6 : 45 to 7 : 15- Attend one shift of floor-specific orientation- Manage common diagnoses mostly related to oncology and some overflow medical-surgical cases- Adhere to a cancellation policy allowing the hospital to cancel up to 3 times per contract
